Florida is famed for its historical and long-standing orange industry, an industry that is currently under threat from issues such as long-term flooding, pollution and pesticide use that is year on year decimating the crop. The building, raised on stilts, seeks to reclaim and revive the existing land, readying it for future citrus agriculture. During this period of remediation, this raised infrastructure uses soiled oranges which are no good for consumption to make aromatic oils. Integrated into this facility is a motel that invites its guests to experience and take part in the production of these oils, providing an alternative income for the farmers.
